West Lebanon, NY – Another exciting season is now in the Record Books at the Valley of Speed. Starting off the evening of incredible feature racing was a very heart felt sermon delivered by Pastor Ed Harkins in the memory of the young Modified Superstar, JC Flach. With no Big Block modified racing being held at the Valley this night, it was a wonderful sight to see all of the Lebanon Valley’s Modified drivers still in attendance and lined up on the front stretch of the High Banked track to participate in the memorial of JC. Keith Flach, JC’s younger brother slowly drove the #77 down the front stretch as tears of our modified heroes ran down their face. Joining the memorial of the young star was over 77 Chinese lanterns that floated through the sky from the finish line of the Famed Lebanon Valley drag strip. It was a celebration of the life of a young racer on his way to super dirt stardom. With love in every racers heart, tears in their eyes and the unforgettable memory of JC in everybody’s minds it was now time to got Racing!

2012, 358 class champion, the “Wild Child” himself. Mr. Andy Bachetti was driving like he was on rails! Starting the Small Block race by driving right past the competition and putting himself on top of the podium one more time. Ending the Valley’s season on a high note. Bachetti later said in his Post Race interview, he was racing for JC Flach. And it felt like JC was in the car with him. Bachetti had also mention that the thought of his healing father allowed him to concentrate on driving. And that is just what he did. Mat Quinn and Bachetti’s Hough Motor’s teammate, Kim LaVoy put on a great show as they rounded out the top 3. Art Collins and Jason Herrington finished a very respectable 4th and 5th place.

Ray Hall Jr. took home the Gold in the Lebanon Valley / Albany-Saratoga 50 lap Budget Sportsman race.
Boomer’s Performance presented the 9th Annual 20 Lap Pure Stock Classic in which was won by Ed Hatch.

Sportsman racing was as exciting as it gets! Brett Haas was leading into the last lap when Ryan Darcy tried to make an outside blast past the leader coming out of turn 4 when the door was abruptly shut on Darcy putting him violently in to the wall. After being met in the Winner’s Circle by thousands of boos the Lebanon Valley Officials quickly disqualified Haas. With Darcy’s car on the hook and Haas DQ’ed, it allowed 2012 Sportsman Track Champion, Chad Pierce to take the win over Alan Houghtaling.
